Weris as the largest collection of megalithic in Belgium

My first question is: Do you like Stonehenge? Yes, I´ve been there too :-)

After visiting Durbuy, the smallest town in the world, I would highly recommend you to make a stop in Weris. It´s really few minutes by car from Durbuy and for us the trip was definitely worth it. It´s remarkable if you just imagine that you are looking at something which is thousand years old.

A few facts:
- very close to Durbuy
- consider as the most beautiful village in part of Belgium- Wallonia
- the largest collection of megalithic in Belgium
- cca middle of the third millennium BC.
- walking (2-3 hours the short trip), cycling

Welcome to Durbuy.

I would recommend you to ride on a bicycle.

There is a museum of Megaliths.

Our trip of discovering local megaliths can start.

Local bar.

The beginning of our way isn´t very comfortable because it´s on the main road.

At our first megaliths stop you can see this exhibition of photographs.

You can find some megaliths along the field.

This one is situated along the main road.

Photos from Weris are definitely the best what we have from Belgium. The great storm was coming and these pictures are so much beautiful. I can´t decribed how happy I was, really. Judge yourselves.

Perfect for cycling.

You can experience very nice walk in the nature.

We are coming to our favourite spot in Weris.

What do you think?

I really fall in love with this spot and the weather. Just perfect. Can´t complain about anything, really. Because the storm started while we were already sitting in the car.

If you ever come to this part of Belgium, I would really recommend you to visit Durbuy and megaliths in Weris. You can easily do both in one day without a problem.

Regards
(so happy from these beautiful pictures)
Michalka
