Black and Devil´s Lakes - 30 km

This was one of the best trips in Sumava National Park. The original plan was to walk just 22 km. At the end it was 30 km (this time it wasn´t my idea). I would classify it as a little bit demanding trip. But totally recommend it exactly for this reason. Black Lake is the biggest one in Sumava and Devil´s Lake is just behind.

About the trip
Start and finish: Zelezna Ruda
Total:30 km
Highlights: Zelezna Ruda, Hofmanky, Pancir, Tomanduv Krizek, Spicacke sedlo, Cerne jero (Black lake), Rozvodi, Certovo jezero (Devil´s Lake), Rozhledna Spicak, Pom.A.Kaspara.

A few photos

I love trips where we can manage at least 30 km! Those are my favourite. More kilometres = happier I am. As you can see on the photo below :-)

Sailing in Lipno + Lookout tower Vitkuv Hradek

Do you know the power of democracy? I planned some hiking but my friends Ondra and Marco had a different opinion. We voted and I lost. So we went sailing. It was the first time in my life and to be honest it was a little boring for me (Ondra and Marco were both really happy). You can easily rent a boat in Lipno.

A few photos from sailing.

After the sailing we went by car to see the Lookout tower called Vitkuv Hradek.

The view is stunning. Also a little tip for you. There was a guy inside the lookout tower and singing some songs, playing the guitar. The song was so catchy that we had to sing it every single day couple of times for the rest of our holiday. There is a video about me singing this song but I´m sure you will understand that it can´t be published :-)

Lipno + Bear Mountain

Lipno has been on my Czehc bucket list. I´ve heard about it many times. In the Czech Republic it´s considered as a kind of summer place for rich families. To be honest, prices are even higher than in Prague and the quality? Well.. I paid for a soup more than 100 CZK, it wasn´t that good and I even felt quite sick after. On the other hand there are very nice pathways for cycling, inline skating etc... So there are many possibilities how to spend your free time.

You can do a nice hike from Lipno to a place called Bear Mountain (Medvedi hora). I must admit that to climb at the top was quite hard for me. I´ve bought very special hiking shoes and it was the first time I was wearing it. So, I kind of got stuck in the middle of the rock. I was too afraid to climb it because I wasn´t 100% sure in my new outdoor shoes. Well, after like half an hour I finally managed it and the view was stunning.

Freezing night. I had one bad night in the tent during those 10 days I spent in Sumava and it was the first one. I slept very little and felt so cold, not cold but freezing the whole night (yes it was a summer, but summer in Sumava!). I had also quite a bad headache. Definitely one of the worst nights in my life. But I survived and in the morning I was quite proud of myself.

Lipno - a few photos.

My Kathmandu bottle from Australia.

Bear Mountain (Medvedi Hora) - a few photos.

My favourite picture. It takes a lot of courage to clim there.

Our camping site - Camping Olsina.

Do you like sunsets? I´m not such as romantic person but sometimes it´s nice.

Holašovice as a little Unesco village

Have you heard about Holasovice village? Probably not if you don´t come from the Czech Republic. This village got famous after it was registered in the Unesco World Heritage list. We stopped by here just for like an hour on our way to Sumava National Park.

Did you know that:
... close to Ceske Budejovice
... 140 inhabitants
... 120 buildings such as farm, pub, chapel etc.

A few photos.

I often have very high expectations and that´s the problem sometimes. In this case I expected something more. In 10 minutes you will see everything. Few days ago I went to cinema with my friends to see Bohemian Rhapsody movie. I had absolutely no expectations and I must admit that it was fabulous. No expectations can be a nice surprise.
