I like shopping abroad

Who doesn't like shopping, right? Most of my (female) friends love shopping. Maybe not as much as I do, because I am really crazy, especially during summer period. Now I am gonna describe you my favourite countries. I prefere shopping abroad, why? Well, you have more possibilities than in the Czech Republic, usually clothes is cheaper and I love travelling anyway..

Italy
Number one in shopping is Italy. I guess you know that the city of fashion is Milan and it is a big truth. I have been there few times and Milan is not only about shopping. There is also beautiful Cathedral.

Duomo in Milan
When I go to Italy I look for brands like: Gaudi, Calvin Klein, Miss Sixty, United Colors of Benetton, Sisley, Guess, Motivi etc..

shopping this summer in north of Italy (McArthur Glen outlet close to Venice)
England
For one year I studied in England. So, you can imagine how big problem I had after finishing my studies. The best city for shopping in England is obviously London. I have been there like 5 times. There is very nice and big Burberry outlet.

In England I look for shops: Primark-very cheap, everybody shops there. T-K-Maxx- brands like Billabong, Tommy Hilfiger etc...Pauls Boutique..
I look for brands: H&M, New Look, Ted Baker, River Island, Lipsy..

Primark in England

one shopping saturday in England:H&M, with my friend Lenka

shopping in Leeds

 Portugal- Lisbon
I spent one semester in Lisbon. I have to admit that I didn' t shop there that much. There is a big outlet (should the biggest in Europe) close to Lisbon. I have been there twice and I highly recommend it.

Freeport outlet,close to Lisbon
Primark in Lisbon
 Spain- Barcelona
When I say Barcelona (or Spain) you say Zara. Almost every Zara in Barcelona is full of tourists. I bought there really lots of things. I like also Massimo Dutti. Another Spanish brands are Mango, Tous, Antonio Miro, Adolfo Dominguez, Custo or Desigual. I prefere Custo instead of Desigual. It was here first and it is not that commercial.

Poland
Poland is not like country of fashion but I live close to border with Poland so sometimes I go with my mother to Jelenia Gora for example. I bought there 2 amazing dresses for balls, then some jacket, T-shirts etc.

my dress from Poland

Germany
I live also close to border with Germany (like 20 min. by car) so very often I go to Zittau with my mother. Usually we buy there shoes.

Czech Republic- Prague
Yes, sometimes I go to Prague for shopping (usually at least three times per year). I have to admit it.

This summer in Prague:T-shirt:W-linie,jeans:M&S,shoes:Lacoste,handbag:Nike,sunglasses:Dorothy Perkins, watches:New Look

Liberec
And yes, sometimes I also buy someting in my hometown. I like boutique called W-linie (you can see T-shirt above).

So, let's use the opportunity that you go abroad and buy something. It is cheaper, you have more options and there is higher probability that you will not meet anybody else in your country with the same piece of clothes.

Typical Spanish food

Ola chicos.
Today I have decided to write an article related to food. What you have to eat in Spain if you wanna try something typical. Firstly I have to tell you one important thing. Opening hours usually are:
lunch time:13:00-16:00
dinner time: 20:00-23:00
This means that if you want to eat at 17:00 for example in many cities this will be impossible mission.

1. Paella
Number one is definitely Paella. It is one of the best food I have ever tried. It is based on rice with seafood.

The best Paella looks like this- home made. I was lucky because my friend from Barcelona invited me for sunday lunch (it is typical to cook Paella on sunday in Catalan families).

Then you can eat very good Paella in restaurants- now pay attention- in non turistic places!!!  You can find lots of good restaurants in part of Barcelona called Born. The price is around 13 euros.

Finally you can eat very bad Paella in turitic places. I am sorry but this Paella is not good at all. In Barcelona there are many places like this in La Rambla, for example. It was one of the worst Paella I've tried.

2.Tapas
It is very common to eat Tapas. Spanish people usually drink wine or beer. Me? Well, water. Tapas could be anything- cheese, ham (in spanish it is Jamon and it is quite famous), octopus, shrimps etc. It is good to try Catalan bread. One of the most famous tapas is Patatas Bravas- potatos with some special kind of sauce. In some places you can order small or bigger portion. I recommend you to order small portions, few types of Tapas and share it with your friends. Usually prices are from 5 euros. In Barcelona there are nice Tapas Bars (and cheap) in quarter called Gracia.

home prepared shrimps
home prepared octopus
mushrooms, spanish tortilla

patatas bravas, croquettes with ham

Tapas menu

3.Tortilla espaňola
It is very famous and Spanish people are quite proud of it. It is made from potatos.

4.Gazpacho
It is a cold soup. I have never tried because I don' t like cold food generally. However my friend tried it and she highly recommend it. Thus if you like soups, definitely try it.

5.Crema catalana
If you go to Barcelona or just somewhere else in Catalonia you have to try this dessert. It is good.

What do I recommend?
If you wanna try as many typical Spanish food as possible go to one of those restautants called "Eat all what you can". In Barcelona there is for example restaurant El Puma.

You can also go to supermarket, buy something and cook it yourselves.

What you should drink in Spain

Sangria
Denifitelly number one. I don' t like wine at all. However I have learnt how to drink at least Sangria (in Portugal). When there was a house party (usually in my place) I had to drink something. There is a big difference between Sangria from supermarket (on the photo) and Sangria from restaurant.

Cava
It is something between wine and champagne. You can buy very cheap bottle in supermarket. It is very famous in Catalonia.

Mojito-it is not typical but very good
Mojito here is much more better than in the Czech Republic. The quality is quite high. I drink one Mojito and I am drunk already. My favourite bar is Rosa Negra. Mojito costs 3,5 euros which is very very very cheap in Barcelona. Mostly you can buy Mojito around 7 euros.

I hope that I gave you some ideas and next time when you go to Spain you will eat something typical. I always do it.

Adios, Hasta luego

Fashion chronicle: My black jacket by H&M

Holaaa chicas.
Last semester I did my Erasmus in Lisbon. During my last few days, I was just walking in the streets in city center. I love walking. 1.7. was the day when I left Lisbon. However few hours before my departure I went to H&M to buy last thing- ladies jacket. It was the best purchase of this summer.

my last days in Lisbon

I was thinking about that jacket for couple of days. I wasn't sure because somehow I run out my money (like most of students after erasmus, right?) The jacket cost 20 euros but I was lucky because it was in sale so I paid only 10 euros.
I like jackets like this very much. I have plenty of them at home in Liberec (different colours, of course). The black jacket is always useful that's why I bought it. I can wear it to school, work, city or pub etc. Do you like these kind of jackets as well?

Some photos from Barcelona- first photo is from Parc Guell and second one from my favourite Mirador del Turo de la Rovira.

T-shirt:New Look(England),scarf:H&M(Lisbon)
handbag:Tommy Hilfiger-from Ibiza

Placa Reial in Barcelona

T-shirt from France, shoes:Lacoste

jeans:H&M(England), watches:New Look(England)

is my favourite square, as you can see.

scarf from Barcelona,jeans from England:both H&M
shoes:Lacoste,watches:New Look from England
T-shirt:Motivi, sunglasses:M&S,earrings:Guess
So, don' t hesitate, go to the shop and buy one. It is worth it.

Real pizza comes from Naples

Hi guys.
Howe are you doing? My life in Spain is going well but summer is over now :-(. However you know that I love Italy, right? I miss my favourite country :-( So, today I have decided to write an article related to Italy. It has been a while when I was last time in Naples. 3 year ago I defitelly changed my opinion about pizza.

Do you know where pizza was born?
When I mention Naples usually my friends don' t know that this is the right place where today's pizza was born. If you knew it, good for you. If you didn' t know before keep reading or just keep reading anyway :-)

Naples, the city where pizza was born
First today' s pizza comes from Naples but of course that people knew something similar before- already in encient Egypt.
In 1830 in Naples was opened the first pizzeria in the world in Via Port Alba 18. This pizzeria still works. I have to go there one day.

The first pizza ever was Margherita
Do you know why actually this type of pizza is called Margerita? Once upon a time there was a queen and her name was Margherita. Margerita came to Naples with her husband king Umberto I. It was a big event so one guy- baker called Don Raphael Esposito made this pizza for them. She just loved it. That' s why he named the the most basic pizza Margerita.

I have to tell you that pizza in Naples is totally different than normal pizza you usually eat. Once you try you will never want to eat your "normal pizza" any more.

Margherita from Naples
 Diavola from Naples

Quattro Formaggi from Naples
from Naples- You have many choices

In Barcelona there is a Naples pizzeria called N.A.P. I go there usually once per week or once per two weeks. People who work in this pizzeria are from Naples. The pizza there is quite good.

In Portugal we were going to place called Mr. Pizza. Pizza was very good if you consider the fact that pizza was made by Portugese :-) (and if my italian friends say that it is good pizza then yes, the pizza is really good)

in Lisbon

This summer-july in Verona (north of Italy) with my Italian-Croatian friend Tamara.

This summer- august in Sicily (south of Italy)

pizza Siciliana from Zafferana Etnea, close to Catania

Pizza from Palermo

And finally you can see pizza from my hometown Liberec. It is not that bad, ok?

I can' t imagine my life without pizza. For me the best pizza is Margherita. So, next time you go on holiday to south of Italy, make a stop in Naples and try the real pizza.

Adios chicos
Hasta la proxima.

Saturday trip to Figueres and Girona

Ola chicos.
On saturday I made a trip with my friend Petra. We went to Figueres and Girona. Why we chose these cities? Keep reading and you will find out..

Figueres
Do you know why Figueres is famous? If you like Salvador Dali, for sure you do. It is a place where we was born and he also died. This city is around 140 km distant from Barcelona. I gotta admit that it was the craziest museum and I have ever been. Dali was big genius and his legacy is just amazing. One day I wanna come back.

museum

Girona
This historic city is around 100 km far away from Barcelona. We went there because all my friends from Barcelona recommended it to me. In Catalonia, Girona is consider as a student's city.

I love squares and in Girona the square is really beatiful.

There is a river Onyar.

 The cathedral dominates the city.

There are many nice streets like this.

So, what do you think? If you have a chance, I recommend you these cities for visit. Barcelona is a good starting point for trips.
Adios.
Hasta la proxima.
