The trulli of Alberobello as an UNESCO world heritage

Ciao a tutii,
this article is going to be about small town called Alberobello. Couple of my Italian friends told me that I have to go there for sure. When I´ve searched on google, it was decided. So, Petra and I made a little trip from Bari to Alberobello by train. We had to go there on Monday, because On Sunday there are no trains to this place (only buses).

Alberobello is famous for its unique architecture. Local houses are called "Trulli". You can find here around 1500 buildings in this particular architectural style.

Here are some facts:
- located in South of Italy, province Bari
- 1,5 h. by train from Bari
- one of the 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Italy
- more than 10 000 inhabitants
- you can see the whole town in like 1 hour

Welcome to Alberobello.

Crema di caffe - my breakfast. Very popular caffe in South of Italy and also very good.

And here we go. Trulli and UNESCO.

I´ve never seen houses like these before. It´s just beautiful, isn´t it?

Me and Trulli.

Would you like to live in a house like this? As for me, probably not. It´s very small inside.

There are more tourists here than in Bari. We were very lucky because in the morning there were only few.

The view of the town.

Local church is very nice. I´ve been also inside.

Of course there are also "normal" houses in Alberobello.

And one last photo of me. I really like this place.

dress from small boutique in Barcelona, snickers by Ralph Lauren+handbag by TH+sunglasses by Oscar de la Renta, all from the U.S.

If you ever go to South of Italy, I highly recommend you to visit this place. It takes more or less 1 hour to see everything and it´s really worth it. As you can see from my photos, this place is marvellous.

Arrivederci

Bari - capoluogo della Puglia

Ciao ragazzi,
On Saturday I came back from Italy. It has been really hard for me because I love Italy so much. I wish to stay longer but I couldn´t. For me it´s like a second home. When I´m in Italy, I always feel happy. Thank God there are cheap flights from Prague to Italy with Wizz Air.

So, first I´ve decided to spend few days in Bari and around with my friend Petra (my Erasmus friend from Barcelona). After that my plan was to visit my Italian friends in Porto Recanati where I was working as a babysitter 5 years ago.

So, what can I say about Bari? First of all I should explain what "capoluogo" means. It means that Bari is a capital city of the region Puglia which is located in South of Italy.

My experience:
- Bari is kind of jungle. All guys look at you and have some comments about you or just watch you as they have never seen a woman before.
- The airport in Bari is very good. You can get to the city centre in less then 15 minutes by train.
- Bari centrale (Bari main train station) is a bit difficult to understand. There are different train companies, the tickets are sold in different places... Trains are always late.
- The park in front of train station seems a bit dangerous. In fact there was one guy who followed me and Petra for couple of minutes- maybe 1 hour.
- Bari is a good starting point for traveling around.

What you can find here:
- old town
- new town
- harbour
- beach
- castle

How Bari looks like
This is University in Bari. It´s like 2 minutes from train station and located in the park. Every time I walked around, I´ve seen Carabinieri (cops) in front of building.

This is main street in New part of Bari. It´s full of shops. I really enjoyed shopping in Bari.

This is our favourite place - Bacio di Latte. Every morning we had a breakfast here. I don´t like cappuccino but I have to admit that in Italy it´s really good.

There are palm trees everywhere and I love it.

Our accommodation was very close to this castle.

Castello Svevo

This is my favourite view - in front of the castle.

It was very hot. Around 35 - 40 degree, maybe.

This is where old town begins. This square is really beautiful. In fact the whole old part of Bari is beautiful.

Local churches in old town.

Typical small streets which I love.

The harbour here is very nice. I´ve felt much safer than in new town.

The way from the city centre to the beach.

And here we go. Local beach is acceptable.

The only problem was that the day when Petra and I wanted to swim, we couldn´t do that due to strong wind.

But I´m happy anyway.

We decided to go from the beach back to the city centre different way. Not along the coast but inside the local streets. First I didn´t feel so much safe but later I was happy that we decided to go.

We found this beautiful church.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, this is my favourite shop in Bari. Love at first sight. If I could, I would buy half of the clothes in this shop. I always support local designers. I´ve bought 2 skirts and 1 dress for my ceremony- graduation.

As you probably already know, I love Italian food. This is a starter- cozze (mussels).

And then my favourite spaghetti alla vongole (clams).

Finally one photo of me and Petra (the only one). Unfortunately she doesn´t like taking photos as much as I do.

And that´s it. So, what do you think about Bari? Do you wanna visit this place? I think that even though it´s not my favourite city I will be back because I fall in love with Seventh Heaven shop and also because like I said at the beginning, Bari is a good starting point for making trips around. And there are still some places I wanna go.

Ciao, ci vediamo dopo

The end of my student life

Hi guys,
Let me introduce myself first. My name is Ing. Michaela Pešková, BA (Hons). I´ve just finished my Master programme at university (faculty of Economics). It means that my student life after so many years is over. At the moment I still don´t realize what happened. I´m so happy that I don´t have to study any more. On the other hand, no more Erasmus, spending summers abroad etc. Well, everything has to end one day. One door is closing, another one is opening...

with my friend Ing. Káťa

You probably noticed my lucky jacket above. I always wear it for the most important exams. Here you can see my lucky pens, borrowed necklace from mum (for luck) and a ring which was a gift for my school-leaving examination.

I´m done with studying.

You need to relax a bit while you´re studying hard for final state exams.

3 birthday parties in one week, 2 weeks before exams
Cinema time: Avengers, 1 week and half before exams
Theatre time: My Fair Lady, 3 days before exams

What would I do without my biggest helpers? Every single day they have been studying with me.

Ing. Ferďásek
Ing. Miky
Ing. Adélka

I can finally go for a coffee with my friends. I have a life again :-)

my favourite Caffe Latte in Potrefená Husa

Now it´s time to celebrate.
Miami cocktail

It´s also time for my traditional shopping after exams. I´ve bought for myself this watch by DKNY.

I have to say that these 6 years have been one of the best in my life. Why? I´ve met so many amazing people, made new friendships, traveling, partying, new experience, studying hard during exam period etc.. I don´t regret a single moment.

I´d like to thank you guys for being part of my amazing student life. I will never forget.

Also, thank you for all those wishes and support. It really means a lot to me. I´m very lucky to have such a good friends and family.
