Říp Mountain as a National Historic Landmark with legend and rotunda

Hello my friends,
last Saturday I organized a trip to Říp Mountain. I have never been there before and it is also on my bucket list. Me, Šárka and Honza used this opportunity as a training for Vysoké Tatry Mountains where we are going today. I still don´t realize that I´m going on a vacation!

A few facts about this trip
- about 1,5 h. by train from Prague
- Roudnice nad Labem: chateau, square, observation tower
- national historic landmark
- a legend: Říp was the place where the first Slavs, led by Forefather Čech, settled. The land was named after the leader
- Rotunda of St. George and Saint Adalbert
- 459 meters above the sea level
- the end: A little village called Ctiněves with a little brewery.
- total: around 13 km

We started our tour in little town Roudnice nad Labem. On the square, there is a cake shop with very good ice cream.

Local observation tower. It is for free and the view is nice.

First picture with Říp Mountain. It was really hot!

From this point there was a steep rise. My respect belongs to the guy riding a bicycle who made it to Říp Mountain without a stop or getting out of the bike like everybody else.

Honza & Šárka & Míša. Rotunda of St. George and Saint Adalbert.

If you want to see Rotunda from inside, you can do it by yourself for just 30 CZK. They will borrow you a key. Or you can wait for a guide and pay something like 60 CZK.

What do you think about this view? I just love it. Czech land is really beautiful.

See you after my holiday in Slovakia.

Czech Grand Canyon + Little America Quarry + Mexico

Buongiorno,
few weeks ago I organized a trip to popular quarries which are not far from Prague. I promised my friends that trip trip willl be 10 km of walking. Of course in the moment, they asked me about it, I had no idea how long is it, so I just guessed 10 km and pretended that I know. A day before the trip I texted them that it is actually 26 km long :-)

A few facts about this trip:
- natural attractions
- close to Prague
- The Big America Quarry also so called Czech Grand Canyon (Lom Velká Amerika)
- Little America Quarry
- Mexico Quarry
- total: 26 km

Our staring point- the Karlstejn Castle. We went there by train. From Prague it takes around 45 minutes and cost something like 40 CZK.

Czech Grand Canyon has been on my bucket list for a very long time.

Mexico Quarry.

Yes, I´m not very good at online maps so I printed my version :-)

Třebívlice and wine making as a spring teambuilding

Hello my friends,
couple of weeks ago we organized a teambuilding. This time in cooperation with our supplier of wine- JOHANN W. I don´t like wine generally neither beer. Yes, it´s kind of strange I know. My parents even have they own private wine cellar at our house in Liberec. But with time, I have learnt at lease to try.

A few facts about this trip
 - the area of Litoměřice district
- Ústecký region
-  less than 1 000 inhabitants
- wine
- the story of Johann Wolfgang Goethe's unfulfilled love to Baroness Ulrice von Levetzow

Event number 1: Delicious lunch in a Johann W restaurant.

Event number 2: Vineyeard.

Event number 3: Let´s ride a horse.

Our AHRCR team.

I was riding a horse couple of times when I was a kid. But this is the first time I´m riding by myself. Have to admit that I wasn´t scared at all. :-) And trust me, the horse would have known.

Our accommodation.

I just love taking pictures before the storm.

Event number 4: How to make a wine? Now we know all the process :-)

Regards
Michaela

Drábské světničky as a rock castle in the Czech paradise

Ciao ragazzi,
lately I have been exploring mostly rock towns, castles, nature, forests etc. rather than cities. This week will be no difference because I´m going on a holiday to Slovakia to climb the hills. Me and my friends are traveling to Vysoke Tatry area. So when I get back, you can expect a few articles about this. Now, let me give you some tips for a weekend trip in case you prefer castles and rocks.

A few facts about tris trip
- located in Czech paradise
- rock castle
- construction from 13th century
- not far from Liberec, close to city Mnichovo Hradiště
- protected as a cultural monument
- visiting this castle is for free

There is also a nice walk around (not just from the parking place to the castle). We made a trip around 10 km? I was really sleepy after a big party. A friend of mine was celebrating his 30 birthday, so you can imagine. And I still did it :-) So, you can too.

I couldn´t help myself, sorry.

It is only in Czech. I recommend you to read it :-)

The storm is coming. True, there was a light raining.

The way from a parking place towards the castle takes really just few minutes by walk.

Such as beautiful views. See yourselves.

We were really lucky. The weather forecast said it will be raining. So all the people rather stayed at home. That´s why I also love traveling in a bad weather. Come on, we are not from a sugar. And remember this: No people = great pictures.

Ci vediamo dopo, ciao.
