Teryho Chata and Zbojnička - one of the most difficult hikes in High Tatras and my favourite

The hike from Teryho Chata to Zbojnická Chata is one of the most difficult in High Tatras - that´s why I love it! I knew Zbojnická Chata (so called Zbojnička) before because my exboyfriend go there every year during the winter. I have heard so much about it, for instance about the restroom with awesome view, that I just wanted to visit this place. And guess what? I did.

When we arrived to Teryho Chata the weather didn´t look good. I asked some locals and they said it is like 50 to 50 that it can be bad to hike from there to Zbojnicka Chata. After all, it is one of the most difficult hikes. But I am stubborn and I just wanted to do it. Because who knows, when I will be back? 3 of my friends decided not to realized it and come back to Starý Smokovec. I managed to convince Sarka and Karel. For a moment, it looked that I will really go by myself because Sarka is afraid of heights (you will know from the photos below what I measn). But at the end, she did it! Proud of her. A little problem was, after we climbed that rock, the rain started and big one. I was a bit angry with myself. And because of the heavy rain, the way down wasn´t that easy. But after all, it was quite advanture.

Our hike: Teryho chata - Priečne sedlo - Zbojnicka chata.

Did you know that Teryho chata
... 2015 metres above sea level
... is the second highest mountain chalet in High Tatras
... you can sleep there, the capacity is 24 people

Did you know that Zbojnická Chata
...1960 metres above sea level
... restroom is outside and it has the best toilet view you can imagine
...you can sleep there, the capacity is 16 people

The way to Zbojnická Chata.

When I saw locals to put on their raincoats, that was the moment, when I took mine.

And this is how it looks after 30 minutes.

Still some snow.

On this trip I realized that even there were really bad moments, I can actually handle much more. And because I don´t know many crazy people like me, maybe I will have to go by myself. My brother told me about Pacific Crest Trail. What do you think??

Miska
