Ostrava as an industrial city

Hello guys,
here is another shame on me. Last month it was the first time I went to Ostrava. Why shame? Because I do have a family here. My grandmother has a brother and sister who live in Ostrava. They all come from Slovakia which is very close.

Ostrava has been on my "traveling list" for a very long time. Every year I think about visiting this place and every year unfortunately I go somewhere else. After my visit, I´ve decided to come to Ostrava on a regular basis- at least once per year to visit my family.

As you know, I´m working for the Czech association of hotels and restaurants. Every year we organize a conference. This year it took place in Ostrava (Moravia part of the Czech republic).

If you know me, than you know that I don´t like wine at all. I know, strange, right? My mother and stepfather has kind of wine cellar in Liberec. Still, don´t like it. However, I usually at least try some wine.

Our conference can start.

I´m wearing my glasses otherwise I wouldn´t see anybody :-)

Ready for GTG party.

Are you hungry?

This was very funny moment :-) Sorry, couldn´t help myself.

I just love colour of this bench.

As you probably know I studied Technical Secondary school of Civil Engineering. One of the guests at our conference was Eva Jiricna, who is famous Czech architect living in London.

Part of the menu. I´m very picky but I have to admit there it was delicious.

And now it´s time to celebrate.

After the conference I stopped by to visit my uncle. I have to say that I was laughing the whole time. So much, that I could barely say something. My uncle is the most funniest guy in our family.

We had a lunch in this restaurant in Ostrava

And one photo at the end. So happy that I could take this photo with very kind and nice Eva Jiricna. This whole conference has been one amazing experience for me and to be honest, can´t wait for the next one.

After the conference in Ostrava I stopped by also in Brno, which is like 2.5 h. by train. And on Monday morning, back to work in Prague :-)

Regards
Míša
