Mostar as a city divided into Croatian and Muslim parts + Old Bridge - UNESCO

Mostar is divided into 2 parts by the Old bridge and you can really notice that. The city and their people have very ugly history behind. It´s still in their hearts. Many people died during the Yugoslav War. It´s important to know the history and this one is still very much alive.

Did you know that
... divided into Croatian and Muslim parts (schools, hospitals etc.)
... many beautiful mosques
...the most famous monument - Stari Most - Unesco
... the city was ugly hit by the war in 1992 till 1995

My recommendations

Accommodation
StarMo design hostel, the most luxury and cheapest hostel I have ever been to. I paid about 100 CZK per night. Located in Muslim´s part of the city.

Restaurant
Restaurant Harmonija - hidden gem, traditional meal, good price, amazing view and very nice service. We found it by coincidence.

Cafe
Cafe de Alma - very hidden spot, accoding to locals it´s the best cafe in town.

A horror story
I got kind of poissoned probably from local coffee  + too many local sweets. I don´t normally drink a coffee (like once or twice per month I drink a caffe latte which is with lots of milk). And their coffee is pretty strong. Well, the result was that I was throwing up for 2 days. I felt really sick during those days we stayed in Mostar.

A few photos

These men get paid for jumping from the bridge - tourist attraction.

Other part of Mostar.

The statue of Bruce Lee - the only thing which connects two totally different parts of the city. My brother actually took the photo. I felt really sick so I stayed in the hostel.

Mostar is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe I have visited. You are still in Europe but it doesn´t feel like it.
