Ostritz as a little town in Germany with famous Monastery

The idea of coming to Ostritz came to my mind because I saw the church from the road. And I was like, it is really nice, I wanna see it. Then I fund out that there is also a famous Monastery when I started to google some information. We stopped by in Ostritz with my friend Honza on the way back to Liberec from Berzdorfer See.

Did you know that:
... less than 2500 inhabitants
... located on the border with Poland
... 40 km from Liberec
... St. Marienthal Abbey is the oldest nunnery of the Cistercian Order in Germany
.. the Abbey was established by Czech queen Kunhuta

A few photos from Monastery

In the shop you can buy local beer or wine.

Hidden spot in the Monastery. We found it just because we followed the locals, otherwise we would never opened that "hidden door".

A few photos from the city centre.

I love churches and this one is my favourite.

In every little town, city, village, there is always a church. What I love is that every church is different and special.

Ostritz is nice little town with no people at all. You can meet some in St. Marienthal Abbey, but they usually don´t continue to the "city centre" and I think it is really pitty. Also, you can´t find many information aboutn Ostritz on the internet, so I hope I provided you some and maybe gave you idea of going there as well.

Regards
Misa
