This is a similar case like a Truganini track. We didn´t have a car so we were searching for a nice day trip by walk directly from Hobart city. My brother found few waterfalls on the map. Who doesn´t like waterfalls, right? So, the plan was clear.
What does this trip means to me?
First of all I would like to say that if you don´t wanna visit Australia because you are afraid of snakes and spiders, you are making a big mistake. The country is amazing. I totally fall in love with. During Tasmania trip we met many travelers and believe it or not, I was the only one who saw a snake! What does it says? That it´s not that bad, so you shoudn´t be worried. My snake was all black and I met him when I went from the main track about 2 steps away because I needed to take a pee. He was let´s say 5 metres from me and my first reaction was: "Brother, could you pass me my camera?" And I moved because I wanted to have a better look. And the snake moved too. Fortunately the other way so not in my direction. Later I googled him and I found out he is one of the most poisonous snakes in the world. He wasn´t aggresive and didn´t do anything to me. Well, next time I will rather forget about going to pee. It was one of the strongest experience during my trip in Australia and I am glad. It tought me a lesson.
A few photos
Even though I met a snake, it didn´t change anything in my perspective of traveling and I still wanna come back. The lesson I took from it - next time I will try to be more careful and I definitely will not take any pictures of snakes in wildlife during situations like this. Some moments don´t need to be on your camera.
Regards
Misa
