Karlstejn as one of the most famous castles in the Czech Republic

Karlstejn castle has been on my bucket list for a very long time. It is one of the most famous and important castles in the Czech Republic. Everybody knows the king Charles IV. and he is the one who made it that famous. Also, recommend you to watch a movie called Noc na Karlštejně from 1973. It is really close to Prague and definitely worth for a visit.

A few facts about this trip:

- located around 30 km from Prague, district Beroun

-  40 min. by train from Prague

- protected landscape areas of the Czech Kras

- the cost of return ticket is around 100 CZK

- medieval castle

- established in 1348 as a private representative residence of the Roman emperor and Czech King Charles IV., later a place to store royal treasures

To be honest, I was really suprised about price differences between tour in English and tour in Czech. I made a tour in English because my friend Amy from Taiwan went there with me.
